Rose Hill Revival – The Ultimate Allman Brothers Experience
Chicago based artist and producer Kevin Purcell has brought together some of Chicago’s finest veteran musicians and assembled their talents to dedicate special shows to the music of the Allman Brothers. After years of playing in some of the areas biggest bands, these award-winning musicians gathered to spotlight the music of Greg and Duane Allman, playing all of the favorites while putting new spins on other songs, as well as performing some of the songs that Duane played on before he joined the Allman Brothers. Great music, great band, great experience!!
Kevin founded Rose Hill Revival – The Ultimate Allman Brothers Experience after performing at the King Biscuit Blues Festival in Arkansas when the Greg Allman band took the stage shortly after and inspired Kevin and his band to appreciate and carry on the music of the Allman Brothers.

Now that both Duane and Greg are gone, the band felt compelled to keep their musical flame burning bright. Kevin grew up steeped in Chicago blues and influenced by the musicians who played it. But as his career in music broadened, he developed a deep respect for the southern sounds heard in early country and electric blues. The similarities in the sound were compelling, mainly because the early blues in Chicago had all come from the south.

As a harmonica player and a lead singer, he became very interested in pursuing the legacy of southern music. Soon he was hooked on all the different styles; bluegrass, Cajun funk, zydeco, boogie, and the instruments; dobro, fiddle, mandolin, harmonica, and then there’s the songs… Kevin blends all these components together to create a rich tapestry of sound, from southern country blues, delta blues, Cajun rhythms and Chicago boogie for an unforgettable show with a deep love for the music of the Duane and Greg Allman.

Kevin’s band has shared the stage with icons like BB King, Buddy Guy, Etta James, Koko Taylor, Taj Mahal, and countless other blues greats while switching easily to share the spotlight with luminaries like Delbert McClinton, Marshall Tucker, The Outlaws, Molly Hatchet, and even classic rockers such as REO Speedwagon, Creedence Clearwater, Robin Trower, and of course Greg Allman.

Rose Hill Revival delivers an intense, crowd-pleasing performance because they thrive on the magical connection between performer and audience. The shows are packed with great showmanship, high energy, intimacy, soul, and the magic of Duane and Greg Allman. Purcell and Rose Hill Revival have distilled the essence of their roots, the blues, and the great southern traditions of the Allman Brothers in a true and original musical experience.
